Of all the four winds, the most dramatic and the most powerful is indeed the north wind. The north wind ushers in the presence of God. Let’s look at the pattern. The east wind removes the works of Satan. The west wind removes Satan himself. The south wind restores our goods and all those works of God in our life. Finally, the north wind brings back the presence of God into our life.

In the book of Proverbs, King Solomon wrote, “Like a north wind that brings rain…” (Prov. 25:23a, emphasis added). Solomon understood that the north wind brings forth rain. However, if you look at the Old King James version, it reads, “drive away rain.”

In the Bible, rain always symbolizes revival. Let’s look at Ezekiel 1, as the prophet Ezekiel was having a vision of God. Ezekiel had a vision of the Almighty God, and how His presence manifests. Focus on the direction it came from. Eze.1:4 says, “I looked up and saw a windstorm coming from the north. I saw a huge cloud. The fire of lightning was flashing out of it. Bright light surrounded

  1. The center of the fire looked like glowing metal” (emphasis added). The North wind represents the presence of God—the Spirit of the Lord.

At this point, ask the Lord for a specific identity. Ask the Lord if you are more of a Ro’eh or a Nabi.
