Joseph was a very rich man, despite his situation. God was with him, and so he was prosperous.  When God is with you, you will prosper. It doesn’t matter where you are or which party is in office. It doesn’t matter whether you’re in a recession, a depression, or suffering from oppression. When the Lord is with you, you will prosper. Joseph was a slave, and still, he prospered because the Lord was with him.

Sometimes God uses an uncomfortable situation to set you up for the greater miracle. He will even put you in an uncomfortable situation just to show you He is with you. I know He has put me in many uncomfortable situations so I would see Him, and so others would see, too, and say, “God is with him.”  God will demonstrate He is with you by placing you in a situation that has you thinking He isn’t there just so He can show up and prove to you that there isn’t a spot or a moment where God is not.

What did the psalmist say? He declared: “If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there” (Ps. 139:8). If we feel like we’re in heaven or we’re in hell, God is there with you. When God said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you,” He means it. It doesn’t matter what horrible emotion your situation is making you feel, you need to hold on to your faith in the Lord. 

Have you prayed, “Lord, give me more faith!” There is no faith to exercise when life is a bed of roses. You actually need faith when times are tough. Does this mean you’ll stop asking for more faith. It depends, can you handle more faith? Can you handle more blessings? At the end of the day, faith AND blessings are for people of courage. No faith, no story!
