JESUS CHRIST AND HIS GLORIOUS RICHES
Christ’s Riches
Jesus Christ and the riches available through him are countless. If we are to appreciate material wealth as the primary idea for “riches,” then we have limited ourselves. We have boxed our perspective to something that is temporary. In order to have a wider understanding of the riches of Christ, we have to first understand our poverty before we have a personal encounter with Jesus. We were once dead to our sins.
One sin has the power to separate us from God. God is a Holy God, and one sin merits the punishment of eternal sin. Jesus came because God knew He was true to His nature of holiness and justice. He sent Jesus because of His nature of love. Jesus was willing to die for the sins of the world. God did not spare His own Son but delivered him up for us all. If God sacrificed the most important Being in His life because He loves us, why would He withhold anything else from us (Rom. 8:32)?
Your Access to Abundance
Through Jesus Christ, you have access to the most powerful Being in the universe. You are a child of God. The manner of love the God of the universe has for you is that you can now be called a child of God (1 Jn. 3:1). We are now children of God. It has not yet been revealed what we shall be. However, the verse says we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is (1 Jn. 3:2). We shall be like God — abundant, glorious, and powerful. If Satan is telling you lies right now about lack, shame, and hopelessness, then you need to remind yourself of what you are going to be in Jesus Christ. When Paul saw the riches of Christ, he didn’t think of hoarding them. He saw that there was more than enough for each child of God. He saw that there was so much, and he can be generous with it.
