LETTING GO OF PAST SEASONS

Letting go of the past can be hard yet beneficial. There is a time in everyone’s life that contains hardship. It can be difficult for people to move on with their lives when they allow themselves to be weighed down by the shackles of their past. In the same way, you must learn to welcome new seasons; you must also learn to let go of old seasons. 

Never fear change because where there is change, there is also growth and new opportunities. Ponder noted, “There must be constant elimination of the old to keep pace with this growth. When you cling to the old, you hinder your advance or stop it altogether.” 

Seasons come and go, but what should remain constant is your belief in yourself. Enjoy the good times when they arrive, and when the bad times come knocking, remember that they too shall pass. 

Go with the flow 

Nobody knows what the future brings. Even the brightest of professors or the wisest of men cannot tell you what will happen in your future. Yet, in the face of uncertainty, those people “know what they’re doing” anyway. Being the right you in whatever season is about getting rid of your fear and taking things one step at a time.  

You cannot know for sure what tomorrow holds, so the most you can do now is do the best you can. Do not attempt to control the seasons in your life. Just choose a goal, explore your options, devise a plan of action, and make the most out of every situation. Every problem has a solution if you assess it carefully, logically, and with a positive outlook.  

Let us say, for example, that you decided to start your own apparel business. You are sure to experience ups and downs in your industry. Some days may be slow, while other days might pick up a little faster than the rest. The important thing is that you read what the season requires of you. If a slow business season stretches out too long and you see very few people purchasing your apparel in your store, it might be the signal to make changes. During low points in your career, you are called to grow. In this situation, the right you must stay positive and look toward finding a solution.  

Ask yourself where the problem lies. Does your most recent set of items cater to the market in your location? Should you opt for a different store branding? Are your prices too high? At this stage in your business, a lot of reflection is required. Once you get together and tweak the right things, you can move on to a different season – one of wealth and rising earnings.
