Listen for an Open Door
Listening is the fullness of hearing. It is possible to hear someone talk and not listen. In order to hear and listen, one must be paying attention. Being able to hear is having the ability to perceive sounds. Most people can hear. However, most still lack the ability to listen well. It is even far more unfortunate for a leader to lack this important trait. As a leader, one should know how to listen well.
In the Bible, we can see the example of Abraham as someone who fully listened to what God has to tell him.
Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.
What did God tell Abraham? 1) God told him to LEAVE his comfort zone. 2) God told Him to GO— not to go just anywhere — but to the land God will show Him.
What happens when we listen well to the Spirit of the Lord?
“I know your works. Look, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. (Revelations 3:8)
