The Watchman Does Not Raise the Sun
Beloved of the Order,
My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning. The watchman does not raise the sun. He keeps the hour until it rises on its own. That is the posture of this season, and it is the posture of everything set before you in this letter.
I.The Teaching: Formation, Not Fashion
This week the Order was taught the distinction between the habit and the vestment — a line most of the church has never been taught to draw.
The habit is a threshold garment, worn across sacred and secular ground alike. It announces the vow and it announces the order to all who see it. It says: my life has been set apart.
The vestment is purely liturgical, worn only in the exercise of sacred office. It says: the office is now in operation. Ezekiel 44:19 is explicit — the priests removed the garments of ministry before going out to the people and laid them up in the holy chambers, not lest the garments be soiled, but lest the people be sanctified carelessly by them.
One bridges. One sanctifies. That separation itself is the teaching.
The office is continuous; the vesting is episodic. A bishop is a bishop at breakfast, but he is not vested at breakfast. So when your household sees you in your habit, they are not being told that Papa has an office — they already know that. They are being told the office is live right now. The habit becomes the bell that calls you to your hour, and the household learns to read it.
And the constancy of these garments is itself the legacy. A form that has not changed from the tenth century to the twentieth carries a weight that no seasonal design can purchase. What we wear, we are handing forward.
This is not fashion. This is formation.
II.The Three Movements
Colossians 3 gives the pattern: put off the old man with his deeds, and put on the new man. Paul is describing conversion in the language of dressing. The habit does not merely illustrate that conversion — it rehearses it, daily, in the body.
Putting off — the laying down of ordinary preoccupation and ego-centered identity.
Putting on — the conscious assumption of the responsibilities, disciplines, and identity of sacred service.
Entering in — the crossing of the threshold into holy work with reverence, humility, and attentive awareness of the divine Presence.
III.Commissions Issued
The Psychology of the Habit
Worthy Class Master Deborah Jones is commissioned to write the full treatment of the three movements above: how the putting off, the putting on, and the entering in reshape the consciousness of the one who wears the garment. Let the words be exact. Let the teaching be clear. And let every page declare that a garment is never merely cloth — it is the threshold between worlds, and the one who crosses it is never the same.
The Chronicle of the Order
A history of the Prophetic Order of Mar Elijah from its founding in 1997 to the present is underway, drawn from founding members and the early Class Masters. It will chronicle the Prophetic Congresses, the emergence of the Class Masters, and the sacred sciences that shaped this Order. Members holding records, photographs, correspondence, or first-hand memory of the early years are asked to make them available.
IV.Action Items
Blessing Plan 22 — all members are asked to pay in full by October. This gives a full six months for neophyte robes to be designed and custom measured, initiate robes to be inspected and adjusted, and every garment prepared without rush fees or last-minute charges. The professed brown robes are custom-made and cannot be ordered in a month.
The Conference — July 5–8. Prepare to exit the hotel on July 8.
The Pre-Conference — July 2–5, if held. This gathering precedes the conference so that a unified consciousness is established before the broader body assembles, and is open to those who have paid the Mastermind in full.
Travel — book your flights now. Arrive July 2 if you are attending the pre-conference, July 5 otherwise, and depart July 8. Fares secured early for July travel can save hundreds of dollars per ticket.
Measurements — neophytes submit as soon as the call is issued; initiates already robed must confirm their current size. Sizes change. Report yours honestly.
Prayer Wall — additional volunteers are needed for Saturday and Sunday slots between 3:00 and 7:00 PM.
Understand what the Blessing Plan is. It carries the room, the accommodation, and a portion of the meals for the gathering, and it makes provision for the journey itself. Coming to Palm is not a conference registration. It is the annual pilgrimage of this Order — as Mecca is to the Muslim and Jerusalem is to the Jew — where you are retooled, reaffirmed, and commissioned, and where your household hears what God is saying over your family. Grasp the sacredness of it and it ceases to be a debt you owe. It becomes a seed you sow into your own calling.
V.The Prayer Wall — September Watch

VI.The Season Ahead
We are in a season of recovery and preparation. The question before this Order is not whether the prophetic survives the age we have entered, but what it looks like in it. In an age of artificial intelligence, what does the prophetic become? What will this house bring forth?
The habits you wear, the vows you take, the commissions you receive — these are not episodes. They are the formation of a people set apart, a prophetic order moving into the next generation with clarity, constancy, and sacred purpose.
