WORK IS A FORM OF WORSHIP TO GOD
The Essence of Work
Work is a form of worship to God. In the beginning, God worked to create the earth and everything. He then gave Adam the duty to work and take care of creation. God gave us work that we may remain responsible for God’s purpose for our lives. We earn a livelihood through our jobs. It also develops our character and glorifies God. Paul encouraged the Colossian church that in whatever they do, they should work with all their hearts as if working for God, not man (Col.3:23). How we act should bring glory to God.
In all this, I have given you an example that by such work, we must support the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, for he said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’

Why do you work? Do you have a passion for what you do, or are you working for money?

Is losing your job one of your fears? Should you lose your job, what is your backup plan? Would you do anything to keep your job?

What are the ways your job is affecting your health? How will you address this?

Are you treating your subordinates the way you would like your superiors to treat you?

Does your job allow you to have time for God’s affairs, your family, and yourself?
