The Next Level of the Gift of Prophecy
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Pursue love and desire gifts
The gift of prophecy is discussed in the Bible. The Apostle Paul encourages us to pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts. He specifically said that you might prophesy (1 Cor. 14:1). Prophecy is simply about hearing a message from God, then speaking it out. A person may hear something from God and communicate it to the church or to an individual or a group of specific people. Prophecy is about declaring the heart of the Lord.
Prophets are — by nature — evangelists.
The gift of prophecy is about sharing with believers and unbelievers. Most of the time, God uses prophecy to demonstrate to people who don’t know Him yet that He knows them and is concerned about them and their lives. He also wants to communicate that He knows details about them that can demonstrate in a moment that they are known and seen by a God who truly loves them. Prophets are — by nature — evangelists. They connect people to the Lord and open their eyes to a knowledge of Him.
Paul mentioned the pursuit of love and the desire for spiritual gifts in the same line. The gift of prophecy is a way of communicating God’s love for individual people and His church. Loving the people around you and seeing them through the eyes of love is foundational in operating in the prophetic.
