DISCOVER TRUTHS VS. LIES ABOUT YOUR MONEY BELIEFS
Truth vs. Lies
Discover the truth vs. the lies about your money beliefs. Rabbi Lapin wrote, “Don’t blame business because of a few unethical business people.” Similarly, we cannot blame money because of the evil actions of people. We create certain negative stereotypes about money that will affect our money behavior if we do. Again, if you did something evil using your money, would you blame the money or yourself? Anyone who blames money fails to take personal responsibility for their actions. The reality is that money is inanimate. It cannot make decisions, and it is only a currency—a means to an end. The person’s needs and desires, on the other hand, direct the money use.
What are the negative money stereotypes you may have? How could these stereotypes be affecting your finances?

UNDERSTAND MONEY PARADOXES
Although money avoiders (consciously or unconsciously) avoid wealth, many carry an underlying resentment towards their financial situation. They believe that they would feel better about their lives if they had money. We can consider this an innate battle within people with this script—considering wealth as evil while still desiring to grow wealthy. This internal turmoil comes at a disadvantage. A person is at risk of self-sabotage, and they may find it very difficult to accumulate any wealth.
Have you at any point experienced a money paradox—you resented and desired money at the same time? How did you overcome this paradox?
