EXPERIENCING THE GLORY OF GOD

EXPERIENCING THE GLORY OF GOD

Knowing God Means Knowing His Glory

Experiencing the glory of God in our lives will have a profound impact on us. The more we know God, our eyes are opened to His glory. Here are the distinctions of God’s glory — glimpses of what we can never fully comprehend as humans. How do we identify the glory of God being present in our lives?

One of the characteristics of experiencing the glory of the Lord is outflowing. The quality of being outflowing is about being a giver. It is about recognizing that you are being blessed so that you can bless others. You look at what you have and ask yourself, “What can I contribute to the Kingdom of the Lord today?”

When you truly experience the glory of the Lord, you can be completely selfless. You can focus on supporting other people. You experience a sense of abundance, and you know that what you put out comes back to you and multiplies.

Your Life is a Clearing

When the glory of the Lord is upon you, you experience your life as a clearing. You cannot live a life full of possibility if you hold on to negativity. You cannot hold on to unforgiveness when you experienced the forgiveness of Jesus. The glory of God breaks your brokenness until you become a space for something new. The “weight” or hakkāḇōwḏ of God’s presence in your life empowers you to clear yourself of emotions, beliefs, and mindsets that lead you to sin. Being a clearing must not be confused with placing blame on others or complaining about the bad things that happen to your life. Instead, it is about becoming responsible for the choices you have made. It is about receiving a revelation of how you have been wrong and responding godly. It is about creating a future of love and openness. It’s not about being defensive or apathetic.

The weight of the Lord’s presence also restores the integrity of your life. His glory comes with an abundance of healing. It is about seeing what is broken, misaligned, and inauthentic in your life and addressing it. It is not about making excuses or minimizing the weight of sin. Instead, it is about restoration, unity with the Lord, and authenticity.

A Vision for the Future

God’s glory gives you a vision of the future. Your visualization powers are activated so that you see beyond what is in the present and the past. You see beyond the limitations of your circumstances and see things from the abundance of God’s love and grace.  Furthermore, you teach your mind to create when you visualize.  Focus on what you want rather than what you don’t want. You take your thoughts captive and make them obey the Lordship of Jesus.

What is Lacking?

In the previous post, we talked about how glory also came from different Hebrew words that mean praise, such as hâlal (“to shine” or “to praise”), shâbach (“to address in a loud tone), and ṭôhar (to clarify). The presence of God also allows you to declare affirmations for your life. Affirmation is about opening up the possibility for every area of your life — your faith, identity, relationships, business, and purpose. Think about all the areas that you have always labeled to be lacking or broken. The presence of God’s glory is about declaring affirmations that create a new context for your life.

Walt Disney had the right idea: “If you can dream it, you can do it,” he says. Declaring what you can do in the Lord Jesus clarifies your mind about where you are right now and where the Lord will take you in the future, given the abundance that He has opened up for you.

When God blesses you with a vision, you must respond with faith.

1Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing:

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

4 So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed from Haran. (Genesis 12:1-4)

The Fullness of God’s Promises is Hidden

You may not see the fullness of God’s promises in your current situation, but it is why God gave you a vision. It is for you to have faith in His glory. It takes persistence and faith to work toward the vision every moment of every day. You must dig deep to stay committed to this vision instead of just thinking about them. Working towards the vision is not about being dependent on yourself. It is about being obedient to God’s call.

In the presence of the Lord, you receive a sense of abundance. The fear of lack is replaced with the peace that the Lord provides. With this experience, you can surrender. Surrender is not about giving up. It is about avoiding an obsession with what the result looks like. It is about shifting your goals to open up to even bigger opportunities for us. Life will not be perfect on this side of heaven. However, as you encounter breakdowns, you can ask yourself, “How can I grow from here?” or “What worked? What didn’t work?” or “Is there something in my life that lacks integrity?”

Becoming a Creator

When you experience the glory of God, and Christ is in you, you see that you are the source of everything that happens in your life. You get to act as a creator rather than as a victim. It is not replacing God in your life or being your idol. Moreover, it is not about acting in pride. It is about acting responsibly and in the stewardship of what God has placed under your care. You must be courageous to ask yourself what you did wrong and what you must repent of. Otherwise, you’ll find yourself stuck in the same situation.

Surround yourself with people who will lift you up. Fellowship with people who also experienced the glory of God. It does not mean you will cut off everyone else who is not a believer from your life. However, you need to be intentional about spending time with people still stuck with a poverty mindset. Your purpose is to minister to them and to help them see Jesus. Choose the people you can let your guard down with. These are the people who can influence you the most. If you don’t see yourself living the life they are living, then these are not the people whom you should spend most of your time with. People who are on the same or higher level as you regarding vision, language, and convictions are the ones you must select to surround yourself with. This process significantly includes cutting out toxic relationships gently and responsibly.

WHAT NOW

  1. Why do you think it is God’s glory to conceal some things?
  2. Do you run after external glory?
  3. Have you experienced the glory of God manifest in your life? What signs can you identify?

DECLARATIONS FOR WEALTH

Dear Lord,

I trust in Your wisdom and goodness. Even if there are things I don’t understand fully, I have faith that You are working for the good of those whom You love.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
