MIRACLES OF GOD

Miracles are seen throughout the Bible. The widow obeyed, instantaneously meal after meal, the Lord provided for Elijah and the widow’s household. The nature of God’s miracles testified to the truth of His word. If God is telling you to give, He is not doing it so that you’ll end up in lack. Instead, it is so that you would display God’s glory in your life (Heb.1:1; 2:4)

Miracles are redemptive, because they restore. They overcome the consequences of sin in the world. They free us from sin and its penalties. Because they are redemptive events, they point toward the Lord, and the future glory He will display here on earth. The Israel’s prophets often depicted the future blessing in terms of agricultural bounty (see Amos 9:13–15; Joel 3:18; Ezek. 47:12; Zech. 3:10). There was no lack in the Garden of Eden. The widow of Zarephath and her son received a foretaste of what is to come for those who surrender and believe the Lord.
