Sowing Generously
Sow generously and do not eat or keep all of your seeds for yourself. Our harvests and the seeds we have for planting are all gifts from God. According to Isaiah 55:10, the rain and snow come down from heaven and do not return without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, yielding seed for the sower and bread for the eater.
Prosperity is a sensitive subject that many preachers avoid discussing. Because many people have experienced not receiving this word, prosperity is a topic that is frequently misunderstood. Looking back in time, we can see that the Lord has always wanted to bless us. His perfect will is to bless his people. According to Proverbs, his blessing brings wealth while causing no trouble.
God desires that we succeed spiritually and in other areas of our lives. Simply put, biblical prosperity refers to receiving everything you need consistently to meet your own needs while still having plenty left over to help others. God is telling us that we should express our generosity by assisting others with the resources that God continually provides for us. God is a generous giver. He set an example for us to follow by not withholding His best by sending His only begotten Son. And as a people made in His image and likeness, we are to emulate His generosity and attitude toward giving.
We learned in the creation account that God gave man dominion and authority over the creation. Aside from that, it says in Genesis 1:29 that He also gave us plant-bearing seeds and trees with fruit-bearing seeds. God intended for us to be seed sowers from the beginning.
This seed that He has given Adam, if planted, has the potential to be a source of provision. However, doing nothing will not cause the seed to grow and bear fruit. And if we eat it all, that will be the end of everything. As God’s children, we should know what to do with our seeds because we will reap what we sow. This is true not only in terms of money but also in terms of our words, actions, and lifestyle.
In the Scriptures, being a sower is not a part-time job. Having the mind of a sower means being one not just in certain places or situations but all the time. If we make giving a way of life and actively seek out opportunities to sow seeds, God promises that we will never be without seeds.
